Aquarius parent - Aries child

Vision and action blend together in this parent/child duo. Because they are two signs apart, they are very compatible. Neither will feel fear of the outside world and both enjoy new and unusual experiences. The Aquarian parent will introduce the child to new and unique ways of doing things, and the Aries child will have an abundance of energy to go and experience it. Both are very independent signs and like their freedom, and they will both do their own thing without holding each other back. They will also return their own different view on their worldly experiences. However, take note, cool Aquarius, fire signs need warmth, and sometimes the aloofness of the Aquarian parent can feel like rejection.

Aquarius parent - Taurus child

This is like the Sixties reversed, where the 'hippie' free loving eccentric parent gives birth to a practical, conventional, routine-orientated child. Little Taurus can teach Aries that it is not possible to live with a dream unless you have the practical means of making it all come true. The little bull will see her parent as 'way out', and will be embarrassed when she comes to a parent/teacher meeting with her hair dyed flame red and studs in her nose, ears and - God forbid - her tongue. She is just being herself, unique and unconventional, but that is not the Taurean way of being. Both have very strong personalities that will come to loggerheads with each other.

Aquarius parent - Gemini child

Mental connections! Wow! This pair are sizzling. The Aquarius parent passes on to her child the mental vision, the buzz for interesting ideas. Little Gemini is so eager and has an excellent teacher in the Aquarius parent. Aquarius seeks out new, unique and intellectual exploration, while the Gemini child is interested in all types of information and gets great pleasure out of just talking. She'll bore easily, but probably not in the company of this parent, who she will greatly admire and be proud to show off to her friends.

Aquarius parent - Cancer child

In the family's many social gatherings and house parties, the Aquarius parent gets disappointed when her Cancerian child retreats back into her room, and abhors the idea of singing for Aunt Pauline or dancing for Aunt Eileen. This child feels more comfortable with her immediate family and is better in a one-to-one relationship. These two find it hard to provide what the other is looking for, but their different values can teach each other a lot. The Cancer child will love routine and security and can a bit possessive. She will see in her parent an exciting explorer who will open up the world of ideas to this safe-orientated child. Aquarius parent - Leo child

Opposite signs always have a lot in common, and the vision of this parent coupled with the creativity of this child will ensure that there is never a dull moment in this house. Both parent and child love praise and there will be plenty of that for each other, as they will both admire different traits in each other. Both enjoy independence and will allow each other be who they are without criticism. However, this child will be far warmer than her parent and may find the Aquarian aloofness too impersonal and distant. They'll share many interests and enjoy each other's company. They'll get things going too and be a productive and creative family.

Aquarius parent - Virgo child

These two could spend their time bickering, as they disagree on many aspects. This child can be very pernickety and fussy and his parent cares little for details. However, there won't be emotional issues here, as neither sign has a need for tight emotional bonding. You will like the way your child enjoys doing things for you and is able to help put into reality your far-out dreams. However, in order to achieve this ideal, there will be a lot of small practical details that will have to be seen to first. And you might find that he is critical of you when you come home with yet another new plan - it feels like role reversal when he asks you "Have you thought things through? Aquarius parent - Libra child

Air signs always get on well together; they both love talking and exchanging ideas. The Libra child is so pretty and pleasing that you can't help but love them. When it comes to making a choice though, this child is terribly indecisive. The Aquarius parent can help here to make up his mind. Both parent and child share a love of art and many happy days are spent in art galleries with friends. Libra learns through sharing with others, and can teach her parent to be more aware of others. The parent teaches her Libra child how to be more objective when decisions need to be made, so that less time is wasted in vacillating.

Aquarius parent - Scorpio child

These two have very different needs, and the emotional intensity of this child clashes with distance and aloofness of his parent. It is not that this parent doesn't love her child, it's just that his way of being and expressing himself is so different. Scorpio children can be very introverted and doesn't really like others besides her family being around too much. Hard luck little Scorpio! Aquarians love people around them, the interchange of ideas and thoughts really excite them. Scorpio loves to dig deep and will sense the many undercurrents at her parent's regular gatherings. This child is very confident and extrovert and you'll admire his inspiring energy. You both love people and this would certainly be a fun house to visit. This child is warmer, more affectionate than her parent and can sometimes feel that her parent is a little aloof. The Aquarius is more fixed in her views and sometimes won't budge on certain things. Little Sagittarius can teach her to be more flexible and take others into consideration. The friendship that you will develop over the years is an enviable one.

Aquarius parent - Capricorn child

This cautious serious child can flatten the exciting adventures planned by the Aquarian parent. She won't be as enthusiastic as you about your great holiday planned for scuba diving with dolphins, group adventures or mystery tours. He would probably prefer to go to exactly the same place as last year! You won't really see eye to eye, but despite your disappointment in your child's serious nature, you will find her witty, and her practical nature can give grounding to your airy nature. Aquarius parent - Aquarius child

Will there be any home life at all with these two? Both love being out with friends and getting involved in social issues. Young Aquarius will be happily brought along with your parent on social events and groups rallying for social justice. There will be very little emotional demand on each other, as independence is evident from very early years. You'll both share a love for music, and the parental Aquarius will be every bit as into new exciting groups as her child. You will probably go together to a lot of music gigs, and appear more like siblings than parent/child. The only bad thing is that you're both a little lacking in your feeling nature, as you are both quite detached and aloof and can feel quite lonely at times.
